performActualUpdate is not checked when updating to db rev 1088

Description

For some reason db rev 1088 does not check performActualUpdate while every other db rev update does. Likely an oversight.

(In [17214]) Fixes #5098. Check whether db update 1088 succeeded, like all other updates are checked.
