There are a few different users that have reported this. The four Ubuntu users at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythtv/+bug/467146 all appear to be using digital sources:
Nova-T-500 2 x KNC1 DVB-C HVR-1250 HVR-2250
As the atrpms user in bug #7007 mentions, there is nothing useful in the default logs.

Bob Shanteau on #8077 mentioned that after changing the Playback Profile group, Edit Channel worked properly. Users wanting to test should probably try the Slim Playback Profile group. Or, try changing just the deinterlacer (from--my guess--bobdeint to something like linear or onefield) and see if that prevents the issue.

Bug only happens if you have browse channels enabled. And it only happens when you edit the channel after chaning from one channel to another.

Mark, assigning since you have the Live TV channel editor-- this bug is likely no longer applicable as IIRC the live tv channel editor is disabled entirely for now.

Replying to Bob Shanteau <rmshant@…>:
I had the same problem in Mythbuntu 9.10. I changed over to Gentoo (for other reasons) and I still have the same problem running myth 0-22-fixes. I have tried with and without fluxbox running in the background, and this has no effect. The UI appears to have quit accepting keyboard events since it still is playing the stream correctly.
