I was wondering if you contacted the Spanish translators listed on ​http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Translation to coordinate efforts on this translation.

Yes, I contacted both of them, and one told me to submit the patch to trac. So, I did it. He also told me that his translation work was stopped by lack of time, and made some suggestions about organizing my work.
