I will need a short sample in order to look into this. Please try to come up with a 1-2 minute sample that demonstrates the problem, upload it somewhere, and provide a link. Thanks.

Don't know if comment just added has been saved....

but sample can be found here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2546717/1099_20120526184448.mpg

and photo can be seen here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2546717/20120526_002.jpg

the message is not displayed in the sample apparently, but is present when viewing from frontend (thus the photo),

hope this helps :-)

cheers, MBantz

Martin,

First, please bear with me as I come up to speed on teletext (not having access to recordings with teletext in my location).

Text in the original ticket ("Switching to Swedish channels often display a full-text teletext with the program underneath") suggests a problem mapping between subtitle tracks and teletext pages.

In the sample you provided, it's hard to tell whether there is a mapping problem, or just a lack of data for the desired page. Do you have any samples that show the problem in the original ticket?

It seems like a certain teletextpage is retrieved automatically for closed caption support. At times the closed caption teletext support does work perfectly, but most of the time the message in the sample (the image) appear in 90%+ of the cases with Swedish channels.

At other times a fullscreen teletext page appear (above the program running underneath, typically a commercial or informative teletext page) - I guess the teletext page that incidentally has same number as the closed caption page.

Martin,

It looks like there are two separate issues here.

First, even though a recording is marked as having a teletext subtitle track, it can take an arbitrary amount of time before any such teletext data shows up in the stream. Until that happens, if you attempt to switch to that subtitle track, you get the "Page Not Available" message (or a translated version of it, in your case). This appears to be what is happening with the sample you provided. The presentation of this information could definitely be improved. For example, don't show the available of track information until the first packet arrives.

Second, there must be something else leading to the behavior "Switching to Swedish channels often display a full-text teletext with the program underneath" originally reported. Perhaps the track-to-page mappings are changing mid-recording. Whatever the problem is, I will need to see a sample in which selecting a subtitle track brings up the full-page teletext menu instead.

I believe the first issue has been explained as a consequence of having to wait until teletext data actually shows up in the stream.

If you still experience the second issue, please try to provide a sample and open a new ticket.
