Description (last modified by )
I was using fixed 0.25 for a peak TV card on Ubuntu 12.04
The "check if possible to exit and shutdown" shell script was not being called. It had been working but it stopped.
I tried to do backend set-up, but it won't shut down.
At the end of mythtv-setup.log I see
Oct 4 22:32:33 abe-desktop mythlogserver: mythtv-setup[3866]: I CoreContext mythcorecontext.cpp:375 (ConnectCommandSocket) MythCoreContext: Connecting to backend server: 192.168.0.3:6543 (try 1 of 1) Oct 4 22:32:34 abe-desktop mythlogserver: mythtv-setup[3866]: E CoreContext mythsocket.cpp:549 (readStringList) MythSocket(899ece0:57): readStringList: Connection died (select). Oct 4 22:32:34 abe-desktop mythlogserver: mythtv-setup[3866]: C CoreContext mythcorecontext.cpp:1167 (CheckProtoVersion) Protocol version check failure.#012#011#011#011The response to MYTH_PROTO_VERSION was empty.#012#011#011#011This happens when the backend is too busy to respond,#012#011#011#011or has deadlocked due to bugs or hardware failure.
On screen when backend tries to shutdown I see
Oct 4 22:32:33 abe-desktop mythlogserver: mythtv-setup[3866]: I CoreContext mythcorecontext.cpp:375 (ConnectCommandSocket) MythCoreContext: Connecting to backend server: 192.168.0.3:6543 (try 1 of 1) Oct 4 22:32:34 abe-desktop mythlogserver: mythtv-setup[3866]: E CoreContext mythsocket.cpp:549 (readStringList) MythSocket(899ece0:57): readStringList: Connection died (select). Then if I do "Stop Backend and Continue" I get:
2012-10-04 22:44:32.793387 I Trying to stop backend 2012-10-04 22:44:32.793504 I Locking input devices 2012-10-04 22:44:32.970644 I Unlocking input devices
should I try and downgrade to 0.24? 0.25 came with Ubuntu 12.04 and I had to get bug fixes for that because the colours were wrong. Now I've got 0.26 - no help. The schema appeared to upgrade okay.
0.26 is not on the version list below
