What would you use this for? Wouldn't it make sense to also provide this for AirPlay? as well?

I use it to trigger a script to power on my audio receiver so I can hear the music. I don't use AirPlay?, but yes, it likely would make sense. This patch doesn't apply cleanly anymore, I will work on a new one

Info was provided, though updated patch (that applies cleanly after changes and includes airplay) not yet provided.

Wouldn't it be more useful to have an event about playback starting?
When RAOP starts, it currently sends a system-wide event to say that playback is about to start. This is currently used to interrupt any current playback. So the frontend can return to the main menu and shows the airplay audio data instead.
