No Sound with cx8800 (pciid14f1:8800 vendid 107d:6611)

The above mentioned device doesn't support dma-sound(cx88-alsa), so is cabled to a soundcard. While it works everywhere, although the soundcard aux port gets regularly muted, sound disappears completely with mythtv. In v4l2-ctl I see a mute and volume control, but they have no effect both in mythtv and elsewhere. Obviously they are for a not present dma sound channel. I see mythtv unmuting on opening the device and after about 1 second of sound through the cabled soundcard, sound disapears. On the recording there is no sound at all. On closing and opening the same happens. Obviously mythtv closes the audio-cable connection, assuming it opens dma-audio, which doesn't exist if pci subid is 8800. I haven't jet found how to close and open the cabled audio port. I am running latest stable 0.26 through gentoo with kernel 3.10.25.
