#1282 closed enhancement (fixed)

Mac FireWire backend

Reported by: Nigel Owned by: Nigel
Priority: minor Milestone: 0.20
Component: mythtv Version:
Severity: medium Keywords: OS X FireWire QuickTime
Cc: Ticket locked: no

Description (last modified by Nigel)

David Abrahams has a patch for FireWire and QuickTime backend input. I don't currently have any hardware to test this (except maybe an iSight camera), but I think now is the time (before any other huge 0.20 changes get in there :-)

(In [9218]) The start of the Mac FireWire? backend checkin, that I should have committed ages ago. This is about a half of it, and these bits should be harmless. Only change I have so far made to Dave Abrahams' patch is in configure, to disable firewire if FireWireSDK20 isn't installed. See #1282

(In [9414]) FireWire? code refactoring. This is the checkin that may break things, so I apologise in advance if I cut/pasted incorrectly. See #1282. See #1530.

With Jim Westfall's help, this is now all checked in. I suspect that the SDK detection will fail next time Apple makes a release, but we can cross that bridge when they do that.
