mythtvWEB will not list programming guide

Description
I loaded mythtv backend on a laptop using mythbuntu 16.04 lts.
It seemed to go well. I did not have to enter any mythtv password for the DB. Set up backend seemed notmal (this is only my 2nd time). Once configured, it asked to start the backend and fill the DB. Running mythweb on my desktop, I get the an SQL error. I have tried recinfiguring the source in setup. Backend stopped and restarted. Rebooted several times. Looked through help on web, but nothing stood out. I don't believe I missed anything in the setup, but I may have. I was much easier that the first time (Disc crash forced reinstall), but I may have missed something. Any thought would be appreciated.

Dup of #12811 . Update to current 0.28-fixes or later to get a version that supports the version of MySQL/MariaDB you're using.
