repeatable frontend crash on entering dvb channel with kernel interlacer set

i have 4 pvr350s and 1 nexus-s such that the nesus is the 5th card

sequence:

set kernel deinterlacer enter live tv select 'Y' 4 times to get to the nesus

shows OSD briefly shows picture (but with what looks like one field offset against the other both horizontally and vertically) crash

log and backtrace enclosed

with experimentation, it appears to be a problem specific to the kernel deinterlacer. one field and linear blend are fine. bob will not work (it says the frame rate is too high).

i found an old (2004 - .16 days) dev list message which talked about a similar problem, but it wasn't crashing then.
