Description

I have two seperate machines one frontend and one backend. I try and connect from the frontend using live tv and get errors:

RingBuf?(/myth/tv/1118_20060506065049.mpg): OpenFile?(/myth/tv/1118_20060506065049.mpg, 12) 2006-05-06 06:50:49.716 Could not open /myth/tv/1118_20060506065049.mpg. 12 retries remaining. 2006-05-06 06:50:56.577 TV Error: LiveTV not successfully started Destroying SipFsm? object

I have enabled nfs on the backend machine and have verified I can connect from the frontend to the backend. I am also able to browse the program listings from the frontend and also I am able to even schedule recordings and they work fine. I am using knoppmyth version R5B7 and here are all they key info on that build:

The hardware in the backend machine is as follows: ATI 128mb AGP Hauppage Wintv PVR 250 Abit BP6 motherboard with dual celeron 400Mhz 20 gig maxtor hard drive 256mb ram 3com 905B 10/100 NIC Ir blaster from myblaster.info

The hardware in the frontend machine is as follows: 800Mhz AMD duron MSI KT4V motherboard Gforce 128MB fx5200 1GB DDR PC2700 ram Creative soundblaster live 5.1 Western Digtial 6gig hard drive. 3com 905B 10/100 NIC

Both machines are using the same versions of software (mythtv etc) I have not upgraded any versions of myth or anything else. Here are the versions from the dmesg output of the backend machine:

CPU1: Intel Celeron (Mendocino) stepping 05 Total of 2 processors activated (1604.37 BogoMIPS). Linux version 2.6.15-chw-2 (root@…) (gcc version 3.3.5 (De bian 1:3.3.5-12)) #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jan 5 08:10:40 UTC 2006 ivtv0: loaded v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw firmware (262144 bytes) ivtv0: Autodetected WinTV PVR 250 card (cx23416 based) ivtv: version 0.4.3 (tagged release) loading

I have attached the output from running mythbackend with the important verbose mode /usr/bin/mythbackend -v important

and

running the frontend using the same parameters:

/usr/bin/mythfrontend -v important

Make sure you are running the same svn changeset on both frontend and backend. That solved this problem for me.

Works for me. Your issues are probably due to NFS caching. Try asking on the -users mailing list.
