Volume control doesn't work with 6 channels card

Description

I have a Sound Blaster Live! and I use alsa with emu10k1. In Mythtv, mythphone, ... is imposible to control volume.

I think that a software volume control may solve the problem. In VLC and gmplayer I can control de volume using software mixer, but in MythTV I can't.
