#4007 closed defect (worksforme)

automatic commercial skipping does not work for lengths greater than 5 minutes.

Commercial removal works brilliantly (set to agressive), but several of the TV stations have commercial breaks in excess of 5 minutes (they do not seem to exceed 6 minutes) which are not removed. There is a GUI setting for commercial lengths. It's allegedly measured in seconds, but the setting is 3600. 5 minutes in seconds is 300, so it's not a 10x mistake. 3600 seconds is one hour. ... the recordings which have two-three almost-6-minute breaks are about 55 minutes to start with.

AFAIK, the only 3600 commercial skip setting is for manual commercial skips. It says this in the GUI, that it does not affect auto commercial skipping. Are the entire commercial breaks not removed, or just the last minute of commercials?

The entire commercials are not removed. Automatic removal very nicely removes 3-5 other commercial breaks, but not those that are longer than 5.0 minutes.

Unable to replicate this issue. I just setup an 18 minute commercial in recordedmarkup and the Auto-Skip feature in Myth's player gladly skipped it automatically.

Perhaps these long breaks are not being detected. There is another hidden setting that the flagger uses called CommDetectMaxCommBreakLength? which is set to 395 which equates to 6 minutes 35 seconds. I talked about it in ticket #4000.

If you have other issues or questions about this, take them to the -users mailing list and I'll be glad to help or check into it further if you can provide some debug logs.
