Description
The MythTV frontend allows the selection of OSD and the closed caption font. Just below the selectors, the size (small, default, big) can also be chosen. This selector can alter the OSD font size, but does not change the closed caption font size.

I suspect Teletext subtitles are actually being resized to fit a widescreen display. Perhaps this is occurring in the same way that the OSD is automatically resized to fit widescreens.
Originally, Teletext pages were designed to fit on a normal-sized TV/monitor with 4:3 aspect ratio. In MythTV, when using a widescreen TV, Teletext is resized to fit across the whole width of the screen. Sometimes, this makes subtitles harder to read, because the eye needs to look across the whole width of the screen.
I can understand that some people would want larger subtitles. I find subtitles at the edges of the screen distracting.
Perhaps there can be an option to leave the Teletext pages as 4:3 aspect ratio, even on widescreens?
Cheerio, David.

Feature request without a patch.
The EIA-608 closed captions are sized to fit on the screen and can not be resized without major formatting problems.
