Myth frontend no longer responds to mythtvosd.

Description
Ever since the switch to qt4 myth frontend no longer displays osd alerts of any type issued from mythtvosd. I have used a packet sniffer and the packet is arriving at the frontend machine. The frontend is listening on udp port 6948 but nothing is ever displayed. I turned up logging on both the backend and frontend to all but nothing related to the problem shows up.

UDPNotify was disabled at [17238], and re-enabled in [17928] - See #5281.
I just tested with a recent frontend [18216] and there was no problem, either invoking mythtvosd locally, or from another machine on the same network.
