Cannot view "previously recorded" after upgrade to DBSchemaVer=1214

Description

After upgrade to 0.21.20080304-1 (that is from mythfrontend) on gentoo, I can no longer see what has been previously recorded: When I select <Media Library><Previously Recorded> the system "churns" for several minutes then says "The connection to the master backend server has gone away for some reason..."

Then, when I acknowledge that message, the "All Programs" group appears with "There are no recordings available."

There are over 1800 entries in the "recorded" table

Every entry in table 'storagegroups' points to the same directory:

| 4 | Default | myth | /newfs/store/ | | 5 | LiveTV | myth | /newfs/store/ |

and the "recorded" table has only 'Default' in its storagegroup column.

How do I retrieve what has already been recorded?

thanks

Lane, can you please provide some more information? e.g. Is the backend actually running? If not, what does it report when you try to start it in a shell? What does 'mythfrontend -v most' reveal?

Sure, thanks for the interest.

Indeed, the backend is running. Here is the log output for important, general a few minutes after I restarted mythbackend:

mythfrontend -v most complains about upgrading mythmusic schema.

I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and reinstall everything.

Again, thanks for your interest.
