Description
This is probably a characteristic of libdvdcss that I simply don't understand, but if I rip an encrypted DVD with mythtv, then burn that to a dual layer DVD+R, it doesn't play properly. I've tested in multiple players with the same result. However, mounting the burned DVD, I can play the files with VLC, but attempting to play the image still fails. However, the same original DVD's ripped with DVDDecrypter on Windows play fine when burned. A clue comes from placing one the of mythtv ripped and burned DVD's into DVDDecrypter. If I try to re-rip a mythtv-ripped DVD, I get the following message in DVDDecrypter:
Encryption Detected! The disk is not supposed to be protected by CSS/CPPM so this is somewhat strange! Would you like to try and decrypt the encrypted data?
So the iso's ripped with mythtv are still encrypted but aren't supposed to be, thus can't be played when burned.

awithers: I don't believe the original poster was being abusive. they were not requesting "new/additional" features, and they were quite clear about the fault, the version it applies to, and they have done basic diagnosis. It seems to me that if mythtv can create ISOs, then it aught to be creating them such that the can be burned (that's what ISO's are for). I consider that a valid reason for a bug-report.
