updated alternate video player for mythvideo

Reported by: Mark Spieth Owned by: robertm
Priority: minor Milestone: 0.22
Component: mythvideo Version: head
Severity: medium Keywords: mythvideo

sometimes the internal player fails to play certain videos so it is useful to have a alternate (say mplayer) as a backup for these rare cases. This is an evolution of #1704

Cross reference: an alternative solution is presented in #6547 (which was closed as dup of this report, but no determination was made on which solution was better).

(In [21444]) Fixes #6029. Adds an alternate player option for MythVideo?. In the end, there were many notions of how this should work and I felt that there's no way to please everyone. This is a modified and expanded version of the #6029 patch. Adds a config option to enable and set the Alternate player.

If enabled, an additional menu option in MythVideo? will exist, "Play in Alternate Player." If not enabled, it will behave as ever. Adds a keybinding for playback in an alternate player for those interested in assigning both to a remote.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
