#7031 closed defect (invalid)

JAMU chooses season artwork for each episode when episode specific artwork exists

Reported by: andrew.barbaccia@… Owned by: Anduin Withers
Priority: minor Milestone: 0.22
Component: Plugin - MythVideo Version: head
Severity: medium Keywords: jamu
Cc: Ticket locked: no

I have the first season episodes of True Blood on my computer. JAMU correctly pulls the metadata for each episode, but will not pull the episode specific artwork associated with it.

So, for each episode, I have the same dvd cover image instead of the episode specific artwork.

Do you mean screenshots? If so, Jamu does not do screenshots.

No, I mean the episode artwork:

You'll see it on the right hand side.

Instead I am getting the season banner:

The "episode artwork" is the screenshot.

Feature Request without patch. Jamu does not do TVDB screenshots, and its author does not desire for it to do so. MythVideo? uses a much more complicated artwork handling system now. It's not just one type of artwork, it's four. Fanart, Banner, Screenshot, and Coverfile. Television Series (anything that has the same title as its parent directory or has a parent directory that includes the localized value of "Season") will display screenshots when available, and coverart when not.

So, since you have no screenshot set, you see coverart. If you want to get screenshots, do your metadata download with the actual UI. (Hover over an item and press W).

Thank you for the info. It's much appreciated.

When you say "its author does not desire for it to do so."

Is that because of the time it would take to write a patch, or a design choice?

It's a design choice, he doesn't like the screenshots that TVDB provides, and I can't say I blame him. :)

For .23 we will likely be generating our own screenshots from the video itself, so they ought to be a bit nicer, but it will still be possible for the user/themer to hardcode the behavior if they don't want to see the screenshots (by changing the imagetype in the mythvideo buttonlist from "buttonimage" to "coverfile" or "fanart" or whatever they prefer the button image to be).
