#7410 closed defect (fixed)

DTS-HD not properly decoded in 0.22-fixes

Reported by: tafypz Owned by: JYA
Priority: minor Milestone: 0.23
Component: MythTV - Audio Output Version: head
Severity: medium Keywords: dtshd dts-hd
Cc: Ticket locked: no

Description

using 0.22-fixes svn 22579

Trying to playback the dts-hd track of Monster vs Aliens is not possible. I don't have any DTS or AC3 passthrough enabled. The sound of that track is rendered as cracking noises almost like enabling DTS or AC3 passthrough through a analog stereo out.

(In [22608]) Allow to play 24/32 bits audio streams. We now downmix the audio to 16 bits. This allow playing DTS-HD, TRUEHD and other similar tracks.

Fix #7410.

Note that this is just a temporary solution. Ideally myth will handle properly 32 and 24 bits audio and only downmix if the hardware doesn't support it.

Will we see this backported to 0.22-fixes?
