.22 frontend freezes on playback start then skip (z) plress within seconds

Recreate:

playback a recording (UK DVB-T) on a remote frontend (via SP13000 with XvMC)

within a few seconds of recording start press z to skip to beginning of programme. Skip indicated (OSD) skip has occurred; blackscreen stays, playback doesnt stop.

ALT+F2 -> sudo killall mythfrontend.real

flash of video (1 frame, and short burst of audio), then terminal window (mythtv video black screen again).

password entered

restart mythfrontend.

try same programme, same thing happens. Leave it about 30 seconds of playback and all is well upon pressing z.
