Hi!

I was wondering if you contacted the German translator listed on http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Translation to coordinate efforts on this translation.

(Both for consistency in the translation and to avoid duplicating efforts...)

Have a nice day,

Nicolas

No, I haven't. I just made sure that no other german translation patch currently exists in trac. While translating, I also tried to use the same words as in existing translated phrases, and even searched for commonly used words and replaced the inconsistent translations with a consistent one.

Regards,

Volker

Hi!

I will have to ask the German translation maintainer to see if he accepts that I commit your patch.

The fact that there are no other translation ticket for a language doesn't mean that the the maintainer(s) are not currently working on their translation and committing a patch from another source could at least partially nullify the work they put in it.

If people wish to help on a translation that has a maintainer(s) we ask that (s)he/they be contacted to team up with her/him/them.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Nicolas

Hi Volker!

Unfortunately I cannot apply your patch as the German translation maintainer is currently working on the translation and committing it would result in him losing all the work he has put in it.

He said he would be contacting you about merging in your proposed changes though.

Thank you and sorry, that is exactly the reason why we ask that people contact the translation maintainers beforehand so that situations such as these do not happen.

Have a nice day!

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

this is absolutely no problem, as it was my fault in the first place.

Volker
