mythbackend does not quit when shutdown requested via inittab

Description

when issuing a stop mythtv-backend command, the backend does not cleanly stop.

attached is the log output and the gdb trace from an attached gdb session.

cannot restart on ubuntu 12.04 - same issue.

We don't support the start/stop init scripts at all. Please work with the packagers on that.

Please try starting by hand, and then killing the process by hand (Ctrl-C) and see if it reoccurs. Also, please determine exactly how the init scripts are trying to kill it, and recreate by hand. This will divorce the issue from the init scripts so we can determine the issue properly.

I believe this was either the logging issue or the EIT issue that was fixed as I have not had this issue occur lately. feel free to close this ticket.
