Component: | MythTV - Recording | Version: | 0.27.5 |
Severity: | high | Keywords: | HLS EXT |

Description
In attempting to use HLS stream
https://sevenwestmedia01-i.akamaihd.net/hls/live/224813/MEL1/master.m3u8
as an IPTV recorder playback just hangs. Verbose logging suggests when the playlist is parsed the HLS Reader doesn't understand EXT-X-VERSION:5
Output from backend log attached.

I only get a 403 error when trying to access the playlist, so I can't see what TAGS of version 4 or 5 it may be using. (currently the standard goes up to 7) Can you attach it to this ticket, too?
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-pantos-http-live-streaming-18#section-7 has an overview of the tags that got added with each version.

I've attached:
ftaiptv.m3u - playlist used to load the IPTV channels into Myth master.m3u8 - sample playlist downloaded when accessing channel master_high.m3u8 - sample playlist for high bandwidth use
The tag versions are contained in master and master_high. My understanding is Myth downloads the playlist for the channel each time it's accessed.
For the record, in ftaiptv.m3u is the ABC New 24 stream which works fine in Myth.

Is this working now?

Not if the feed in question really does require an EXT-X-VERSION of 5. We only understand 0 through 3.
