#12991 closed Patch - Feature (Fixed)
HiDPI GUI display

Component: | MythTV - General | Version: | Master Head |
Severity: | medium | Keywords: | GUI display 4K 3840 buffer |

Description
MythTV frontend screen setup does not allow setting screen size greater than 1920x1080 unless you select auto full screen option & that option does not work nicely with non-autohide taskbars on some display managers.
MythTV frontend GUI lags badly once display size is about 3000x1800. Increasing the openGL buffers helps. People with weak hardware / limited GPU memory might not be happy (ARM).
Why: Some people will prefer to scale all video to 4K on the GPU & drive screen at native resolution; also avoids (some of) the annoying display mode changes.

The settings were updated some time ago for 4k resolutions.
