#13564 closed Bug Report - General (Trac EOL)

Handling playback of channels that do not currently have broadcast should not freeze the UI

Reported by: Jarno Suni Owned by:
Priority: minor Milestone: needs_triage
Component: MythTV - DVB Version: v30-fixes
Severity: medium Keywords: freeze crash delay
Cc: Ticket locked: no

Description

If I try to watch a DVB channel that does not have broadcast currently, it will not respond to keyboard, and takes a long time before it returns to menu telling "could not read first 2048 bytes" (or crashes).

It should respond to esc key and not take that long to decide that it can not play.

In Mythtv 31 this still freezes the UI for a while (i.e. does not respond to Esc key), but returns after several seconds to guide and displays an error message about not being able to read first 2048 bytes.
