MythTV crashes on DVB scrambled channels

Reported by: mattia@… Owned by: Isaac Richards
Priority: major Milestone: unknown
Component: mythtv Version: 0.18.1
Severity: high Keywords: dvb scrambled channels
Cc: Ticket locked: no

Description

Mythfrontend 0.18.1 always crashes when it tries to tune a scrambled DVB channel. So I have to wait Mythfrontend to close, I have to kill mythbackend and I have to restart both the programs. Another problem is that when I restart mythbackend it tries to tune that scrambled channel (which isn't the starting channel in mythtv-setup) another time, so I can't seriously watch TV anymore. To solve the problem I have to setup my starting channel in mythtv-setup. I can't remove these scrambled channels from the channel editor because the Italian national televisions (RAI and Mediaset) are free-to-air, but make its channels scrambled sometimes, there aren't always scrambled. When they are scrambled, MythTV crashes and this is no good.

You need to test with SVN head and supply a backtrace.

How I can supply a backtrace?

(In [7596]) Closes #335. Really.

I had hoped to integrate Wendy's patch in a separate commit, but I overwrote the original..

Anyway this adds search of multiple fields, by adding a comma or ">" between phrases. The fields searched are filename, artist, album, and title.

And, I was wrong about the regular expressions. A regular expression detector would be needed for this, but otherwise the support is there.

There will be no fixes for DVB on 0.18.1. Use SVN head, and provide backtraces on any crash.
