Description
when scanning, new channels found get a channel number. the logic of choosing that number (is it the stream id ? ) creates multiple channels with same channel number, and at the same time, big gaps between channel numberss.
is it possible to assign channel numbers differently ? for example: incrementally ?

i went over all the tickets on componnet 'channelscan' before posting this bug report. there is no bug report handeling the numbering issue.

A number of numbering schemes are used. But at the moment these are chosen by MythTV based on the data it sees while scanning, we're working on better schemes. See the other channel scanning tickets.
