mythwelcome sefault when exiting mythfrontend 0.24
Reported by: | Owned by: | stuartm | |
---|---|---|---|
Priority: | major | Milestone: | unknown |
Component: | MythTV - Mythwelcome & Mythshutdown | Version: | 0.24-fixes |
Severity: | high | Keywords: | mythwelcome segfault |
Cc: | Ticket locked: | no |
Description
Mythwelcome segfaults on new installation of Mythbuntu 11.04. Steps to reproduce:
- Run mythwelcome from console
- Start mythfrontend from inside mythwelcome
- Exit mythfrontend
- Wait a few seconds for segfault
This will happen every time I exit from mythfrontend.
I have attached the mythwelcome output as well as lshw output
MythTV Version : v0.24-251-ga0bb5e9 MythTV Branch : fixes/0.24 Network Protocol : 63 Library API : 0.24.20101129-1 QT Version : 4.7.2
$ uname -r 2.6.38-8-generic-pae
As I used the Ubuntu build, I have not compiled from source. I did try to get a backtrace following the instructions, but the program would not run normally (ran but did now show a program window).
I reran mythwelcome with -v all in case that helps. This is attached.
Summary of attachments:
- log1.txt - output when running mythwelcome normally
- log2.txt - output when running with -v all
- lshw.txt - lshw output
Note that this HW is based on the new Sandy Bridge with i3 processor. Not sure that this should be a problem in this case, but I know there have been problems in other areas such as video.
regards,
Ron

This looks like a driver issue perhaps. It's hard to tell from the one minimal backtrace attached here.
Can we get a better backtrace with corresponding logs from the same run?

I also afraid it's more an ubuntu problem. At the moment I'm not using the open gl painter and the problem is gone.
Are you interested in the mythtv logs? What has to be done?

Seems to be a driver issue. Please re-open with some fresh backtraces and logs if you can still reproduce after updating Myth and your video drivers.
