Description
I have a lot of videos as I do a lot of animation. All my videos are in a good folder layout but because mythVideo grabs all the video information at the same time it takes ages to load the list.
I was wondering if it could be sped up by only populating each folder/subfolder when accessed?
e.g. of I have 4 folders each with 100 videos instead of accessing 400 video records if it did it a folder at a time in need only access 100 video records

I don't understand? Its not really a question its more of a feature request to make MythVideo? load faster and better. On my system it takes 4.5 minutes to load mythvideo when all it really needs to load is about 10 folders/subfolders and about 10 video clips rather than my full +900 video clips I thought this was where you put those.
Do I email the mythtv-users mailing list for that? If so hows does that help me get it implemented?

Hi!
There might be a way to do what you want which you haven't envisioned which is why you should first post on the mythtv-users mailing list. It's even possible that our next version which will be released soon might have a fix/workaround for that (assuming it's not a configuration problem on your PC) for that (only the developer(s) who work on this might know for sure and you will most likely get an answer from them on the mailing list).
There is also a feature request page on http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Feature_Wishlist .
Thank you for your interest in MythTV and have a nice day!
Nick

Yes, there is
which is why you should first post on the mythtv-users mailing list.
where we will help you fix your setup, which you have configured such that it scans the entire directory structure each time you enter MythVideo?. If you configure MythVideo? properly (or, more precisely, if you hadn't misconfigured it--as the defaults configure it properly), it works like you want.
Hi!
Please ask your question on the mythtv-users mailing list (or on #mythtv-users on Freenode) as Trac (our bug tracking system) should only be used to submit bugs or submit patches.
Thank you!
