Description
When i record a program like say House.. and i decided to watch after 20 minutes (so recording is still going on) to that recording so i can skip commercials etc.. the screen shocks every xx seconds.. The strange thing is that this is only happening during the record/watch phase.. if i go to livetv during the same recording i can watch it without any shocking.. and if the recording is done and i watch a program no problems either..
So i thought maybe it is an IO problem somewhere so i tuned my SSD according and looked at iotop/top etc. etc. but i can't find any bottlenecks anywhere.. It is so verry strange that everything is working as a charm only if i record something and watch it at the same time.. The strangest thing i find is that livetv (also a sort of recording/watching) isn't having any problems..
My specs of machine :
- GT430 card
- 2x SSD drives 2x Corsair Performance Pro Series 256 GB, S-ATA III
- Intel Core I5 2500K 3.33 GHz, Tray, Incl. Videochip, Quad Core
- 4gig of memory

A little update.. I did some extra debugging and found that during record/watching the following errors come into the mythfrontend.. The strange thing is that i don't see this in livetv..
After debugging/googling allot on the sound problem(see below) i found out that this is happening if the sound config/buffer is set wrong. But because this is only happing during recording.. it looks like that the sound and screen isn't in sync somehow during recording fase.. I tried allot of different settings i found on the web but everything i do worses the livetv or the already recorded programs..

Shocking means that every xx seconds the screen freezes for milliseconds(not bad but noticeable)..

I'm marking this as Invalid. Not because this isn't a real problem, but just because this ticket won't help in solving the problem. We changed our video playback threading model in 0.24 and this means that video playback can be preempted by random events.

That could be the case.. But it is strange that this only happens during record playback and not live-tv watching. I addepted to the problem by not look at showings anymore that are being recorded, and wait until recorded has finished.
I'm not 100% agreeing with the response because one of the major big things on the machine marking commercials doesn't affect the live-tv or recorded watching at all.
But because of 0.25 will go live shortly i will wait and adept to the problem at hand and see if it is changed in there. Thanks for the help.
