#12611 closed Bug Report - General (Upstream Bug)

Current v027.5 version mythbuntu mythtv download has mismatched frontend/ backend versions

Reported by: singogli@… Owned by:
Priority: minor Milestone: 0.27.6
Component: MythTV - General Version: 0.27.5
Severity: medium Keywords: frontend backend version mismatch
Cc: Ticket locked: no

Current mythbuntu package has mismatched frontend backend versions which causes frontend to continually error out. If you use mythbuntu 14.04-2-desktop amd64 iso to create install disk and enable mythtv repositories and run all updates the frontend will continually crash. Error logs reflect a version mismatch. An apt-get install mythtv returns a current version message. apt-get install mythtv-backend says it is up to date. apt-get install mythtv-frontend results in additional file download which brings the frontend version into sync with the backend.

Syncing the frontend and backend as above is not enough. mythmetadatalookup.log now contains the line:

Jan 21 16:00:46 studio64 mythmetadatalookup: mythmetadatalookup[3624]: W CoreContext? mythcorecontext.cpp:231 (Init) This application is not compatible with the installed MythTV libraries. Please recompile after a make distclean

As of today January 23rd, 2016 the current updates bring the frontend and backend versions into sync: mythbackend version: fixes/0.27 [v0.27.5-72-g5e18f50] mythfrontend version: fixes/0.27 [v0.27.5-72-g5e18f50]

mythmetadatalookup no longer complains about Application binary version not matching libraries.

Looks like this one can be closed.
