Description
I had a working setup with three DVB cards on Mythbuntu 8.04, a Hauppauge Nova-T-500 with two receivers, a LifeView? DVB-S and an old Twinhan DVB-T.
This machine is now upgraded to an Ubuntu Sever 8.10 but the thre DVB cards are not fully detected. In the Capture Card Setup I get the following error message:
Frontend ID: Could not get card info for card #0 Unexpected error Where the number change from 0 to 3 so the cards are detected in some respect.
I have searched the net and seen other having the same problem but no suggestion to solution anywhere therefore this might be an error.
Included is the output from dmesg | grep dvb

Please check the permissions of your DVB devices and determine whether your mythtv-setup user has sufficient privileges to access them. Does running mythtv-setup as root improve things?
