Mythfrontend rewinds by itself when viewing recordings or livetv

Reported by: Mario Di Nicola <warp99@…> Owned by: Isaac Richards
Priority: major Milestone: 0.22
Component: MythTV - General Version: 0.22-fixes
Severity: medium Keywords: rewind
Cc: Ticket locked: no

Description

Since updating to the new Mythbuntu fixes my combination frontend/backend machine the video is skipping back at regular intervals for the amount of time I have set for rewind in the playback groups dialog. When this occurs a message pops up in the mythbackend.log (see attached).

Problem occurs even if I psychically remove the keyboard, IR remote and unload the lirc daemon. Ticking the box "Always stream recordings from backend only" parameter in the playback preferences has no effect on this behavior. Rebuilding the seektable using "mythcommflag --rebuild" does not fix the issue. The mythconverg database has already been updated to reflect the "latin1" changes. This bug does not occur when a remote frontend is utilized.

Additional information:

If I SSH into into the frontend/backend computer, export the display (export DISPLAY=:0), and start the frontend (mythfrontend --service &) the rewind behavior stops. Of course this is not optimal since I need to run upstairs to my second computer every time I need to restart the frontend.

As of version 23110 of 0.22-fixes the rewind behavior seems to have stopped. Watched approximately three hours of live TV and recordings with no errors. Everything appears back to normal.
