Soundgraph iMon LCD doesn't work

I keep up to date with the releases (currently running 0.24.0~trunk26610) and I experience a strange phenomenon: typically every other release has my Soundgraph iMon LCD not working.
By not working I mean it displays the startup message as configured in "/etc/lirc/lircd.conf" but no MythTV messages are ever displayed on the LCD.
It is a "Bus 005 Device 002: ID 15c2:0038 SoundGraph? Inc." and lirc is 100% configured correctly (as proven by the hello/startup message being printed) but in this version of MythTV no MythTV-related messages are ever printed.
The funny thing is that the last version worked fine, and all configured MythTV messages were printed to the LCD. This working/not working behaviour seems to happen every other release, and has done so for the last 6 months or so (since I started using the trunk releases).
I have been through all the configuration files tens of times and I can't seem to pick it. If anyone can suggest commands/outputs to run to get more information about this I will get the required outputs ASAP!
It sounds like you want to be speaking to your packager/distro provider. There is no indication whatsoever here that this is a MythTV problem, and I am closing it until there is some discussion on the users list or other non-ticket forum suggesting that it is. We have multiple devs using iMon LCDs without issue.
If you can provide any indication whatsoever that *MythTV* code is to blame, we will attempt to address your issue.
